A family. An idea.
A whole lot of giggles.

Our story

Rounded Specs Publishing LLC started as a small side dream created by founder and author, Mark Bacera. While working full-time as a teacher, he spent his off-time creating silly and funny books for his then three-year-old daughter.

From there, it grew into a passion to create more books to make his daughter—and his students—laugh. The first book in the Rounded Specs children’s book catalogue was The Poo Poo Book.

How a little silliness became a book

During a difficult visit to the doctor, Mark and Mae found an old Etch A Sketch. Drawings of hearts, cats and dogs eventually gave way to a much sillier idea: unexpected things coming out of a cartoon bottom.

Mae smiled and laughed, and made it through the rest of the visit. Afterwards, they turned the idea into a book. Mark gathered names, jobs and foods beginning with P, and Mae chose the combinations.
